4×4 Off road Extravaganza

The 4×4 Extreme Off-road Adventure team organised an off road Championship on Sunday at Headland Sada, in Marmagao constituency. The event was flagged off by Mr Milind Naik, Honorable Minister for Power and housing Government of Goa in the presence of local ward Councillor and eminent citizens of the Constituency.

The track was around 10 kms and was specially designed for extreme Off-roading by Mr Kalpesh Naik and Shivon Mascarenhas. It was one of the best and the most challenging track we have seen so far. There were sharp inclines and declines, water crossing, loose gravel, axle bending stretches, hill climbs and sharp dips not to mention lots of mud and slush. The extremeness of the track can be judged by the fact that only few cars could complete the entire stretch of the track.

The event got excellent response with more than 30 participants in the championship. Some participants had even come from neighboring states of Karnataka and Maharashtra. A massive crowd with people from all age groups came to witness the event and were seen cheering for the participants. The event was well organized with The Chairman of the Team Mr Sandeep Mayanker and Chief co-ordinate Mr Sai Satardekar guiding the Drivers. There were many volunteers deployed to ensure the smooth functioning of the event.

The participants had a good time and were given momento’s for participation, in addition there were prizes for the best modified Jeep, best performer and the best driver. The 4×4 Extreme adventure team is planning to organise similar events in the future. Next on the cards will be a drag race, the schedule for which will be announced shortly.
