Bajaj Boxer BM100 caught testing

Bajaj Auto is testing the latest generation Boxer BM100 in India. The company has discontinued the Boxer BM150 due to luke warm response but is betting on the Boxer BM100 and will mainly be manufactured for the export markets.

This new generation Bajaj Boxer BM 100 caught on test will not however go on sale in India. The bike is based on the same old platform and shares a number of components like the tail light, side indicators and spoke wheels. The bike on test was fitted with an external fuel tanks which indicates a a fuel economy test run.

Bajaj already has two products in the 100cc commuter segment: Discover 100 & Platina and also plans a new model in the 100cc segment. The company claims it will be an expensive model with latest technology and features which will be first in the 100cc segment.

Bajaj who sales have seen a slide in the Indian market is betting big on the exports.

The Pune two-wheeler maker claimed that Discover motorcycle had overtaken Hero MotoCorp’s flagship model Splendor for the first time ever in September, which was quickly refuted by Hero MotoCorp, saying that they still enjoyed the top spot.

Bajaj is targeting to sell 2 lakh units of the Discover over the next few months.
