Basecamp launches Caravans in India

Basecamp an integrated Adventure Travel & Outbound Training organization, launched the first ever Caravans in India taking the adventure to a next level. Two variants are on launched in India, HYMER sporting style 465 and Dethleffs Newline 410tk. The caravans are designed to cater to all the travel needs of discerning Indian travellers.

HYMER is one amongst the most successful & innovative manufacturers in Europe. while Dethleffs is one of the biggest caravan providers in Europe. The caravans can be powered via a 220V socket or a portable generator that can be carried in the caravan itself. The caravans also have space for two cooking gas cylinders.

The HYMER Sporting is priced at Rs. 22 lakhs + taxes while the Detleffs New Line 410TK is priced at Rs. 16 lakhs + taxes. The caravans would be delivered between 45-90 days from the time of order.

Basecamp has tied up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Haryana Tourism Corporation to promote the caravan segment. BPCL would provide parking facilities at their petrol pumps while Haryana Tourism would provide parking facilities at its Yatri Niwas compounds.

The Caravans concept is not a new to many Indians. Many people buy the Force traveller or mini buses and convert them to caravans, but these are not towed by your personnel vehicles.

Basecamp also deals in roof tents that can be mounted on the roof rails of SUVs, where two people can sleep in while travelling. The Columbus roof tent from AutoHome is available at Basecamp stores for Rs 1.25 lakh.

The company may manufacture the Caravans in India in the future and plans to sell around 600 caravans in the next one year.
