Facelifted Chevrolet Captiva Launched

Chevrolet Captiva with a more powerful engine was speculated since a long time, numerous Spy-Pics had emerged time and again and it was just a matter of time before the new version was launched. After a long wait, the day has finally arrived and General Motors has announced the launch of the updated Captiva, its popular SUV.

The New Captiva now sports a 2.2-litre diesel engine which produces 186.5bhp at 3800rpm and a whopping 424Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. This engine though is available with the only the top-end variant which also gets a 6 speed Auto and All wheel drive system. The other two variants come with the same 2.0-litre engine from the older Captiva and are 2 wheel drive versions with manual transmission.

The most striking difference in the new Captiva is the muscular design of the front. You get a massive 2 piece grille separated by a thick strip with the Chevrolet Logo sitting right in between. The headlamps are restyled and along with the slightly altered bumper give the car a sporty and macho look which surely will attract customer. The other changes to the exterior are the modified side mirrors which now gets turn indicators and subtle changes to the tail light.

On the inside The Captiva retains the 5+2 flexi seating but now comes with Jet black interiors. There are new sporty looking angular air-vents, the Centre console is larger and looks better. The other features on the inside are Leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob and a 7 inch screen on the centre console. The other convenient features such as bottle holder, ticket holders, cup holders, sunglass holder, seat-back pockets are also present on the Captiva.

The Captiva is available in 3 variants

  • Base 2.0-litre variant priced at Rs 18.74 lakh
  • Mid 2.0-litre variant priced at Rs 19.48 Lakh
  • Top-end AWD, 2.2-litre AT priced at Rs 24.59 Lakh
