Ford Fiesta facelift – Brazilian version

Ford has showed up an updated Fiesta ST hatchback at the Paris Show with a modest revision to the front fascia which bore a trapezoidal grille with slight tweaks on the sides of it including LED-infused headlamps and a power-dome bonnet. The hatch is a big seller around Europe but Ford lost a bit of a ground lately and this could well make it up.

This 2013 range accumulates minimal tail end changes with limited interior variations. Only the centre console was redone along with revised switchgear and modified upholstery. Despite all the minor make over, six varieties of engines were on offer, notably, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine.

As crowds garnered to address the newly arriving Boss 302 Mustang, the Brazilian version of Fiesta sedan also found the light of the day. There is a similar way of doing things in Ford. There is an underlying reason to why I mentioned the ST hatch, the Fiesta Sedan has an appearance that’s more alike to its sibling, in the interior trimmings as well.  But the resemblance is restricted to the front end.

Have a glance, there is a feel to space at the inside and the sculpted body is mindful of convention. The ground-lights are a bit swoopy following the headlights on either side, the aligned front grille sits in its middle. Going back to the rear, an angular restyled bumper with chrome touch lies beneath the taillights. The boot is modified much to the relief of customers seeking a new one.

The car will be sold in the Brazilian market come 2013. The facelifted Ford Fiesta will be powered by a 1.6 liter, four-cylinder, Ti-VCT flex-fuel engine, powering out 105 hp expectedly and mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and a 6 speed PowerShift dual clutch automatic gearbox. Since it also runs in Ethanol, power delivery might differ by a slight margin.

It has loads of technology like traction control, Hill Assist, 7 safety airbags, SYNC multimedia system and much more goodies. Prices are kept secret and only when the variants arrive in Brazil the price tag can be concluded. As for our country, the new Fiesta might reach the shores at the end of 2013 or in 2014.
