GOW Exclusive: Great Wall Haval 5 caught testing again


A few days back we reported that ICML will launch the Great Wall Haval 5 in India. We also carried a detailed article on the Haval 5 and Wingle pick-up which could also make it into the Indian market.

Today we have got the first pics of the Haval 5 SUV inside out. The SUV was caught testing in Sector-18 Noida. The car was carrying a red registration no. Plate which commonly found on test vehicles. It has  5 seater option with a large boot of size similar to the Honda CR-V. The SUV caught testing was strapped with a 2.0 litre common rail engine. The interiors were up to the mark and the seats could be electronically adjustable for leg room.

The Haval 5 SUV is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants. The Haval 5 has L 4649×1810×1745 (length × width × height (mm)) with a ground clearance of 180 (4×2) and 175 (4×4) and a wheelbase of 2700.

Internationally it is powered by a 2378cc In-line 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, water cooled, petrol engine and 2499cc In-line 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, water cooled, high pressure common rail, turbocharging disel engine.

The interiors space was decent and could easily give some competition to Tata Safari and Scorpio.

Brakes are Disc at both ends and suspension is Double cross-arms type, independent suspension with torsion bar springs;5-link coil spring dependent suspension. The Haval 5 SUV is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 varaints.

From what we gather ICML Sonalika group is ready with the SUV to launch in the Indian market. Seems like ICML is going to launch a stylish SUV and would mainly consider the XUV500 as the bench mark.
