Mahindra Mojo caught testing in Pune, launch in April?

Mahindra 2 Wheelers launched two new products after the other the Pantero and Centuro motorcycles to mark its re-entry in the motorcycle segment. Both the bikes come with first in class features and a new fuel efficient engine. At the time of launch the company also revealed plans to launch the much awaited Mojo 300 in the Indian market by next fiscal.

The company official was quoted by PTI as saying, “We are going through testing protocols right now for the engine. We are hopeful of its launch in the next fiscal.”

Thanks to our friends at ICB who have managed to get spy pics of the Mojo being tested in Chinchwad, a suburb close to Pune. Mahindra also opened a new R&D centre in Pune, Multi-faceted R&D facility with state-of-the-art Engine Development Center (EDC), vehicle design & development facility, testing facilities, prototype center, design studio, Fatigue Test Lab etc. in July.

Mahindra had unveiled the Mojo 300 in 2010 and also displayed the motorcycle at the 2012 Auto Expo.

The motorcycle is powered by a powered by a 300cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC engine with electronic fuel-injection and will be mated to a 6-speed transmission. The engine is designed by Engines Engineering and the bike borrows its styling ques from Malaguti MR250.

The Mojo will add the flury of choices in the 250cc plus segment. Bajaj, KTM, Kawasaki and Suzuki are the other manufacturers which plan to launch more products in this segment.
