Maruti to give the Wagon R a minor update

2013 Maruti Wagon R

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the Wagon R with minor update. The car which was launched in 2010 will receive its first dose of refresh in 2013. The update includes a revised grille single horizontal slab in the centre, a new bumper with new housings for the fog lamps and larger air dams.

The rear is untouched and interiors may also receive minor tweaks. The Wagon R is the fourth bestselling car from Maruti Suzuki and does a decent 10,000 units per month.

With competition rising mainly from Hyundai i10 and Chevrolet Beat, Maruti does want to take any chance on losing its customers. The hatch is available in petrol & CNG fuel options. Suzuki is also working on a small diesel motor in Japan and will be introduced on the next generation of small cars in India and the global market.

We hope Maruti works on the performance figures of the car with a slight increase in power and torque, as there has many old customers not really enjoying the drive of the new Wagon R as compared to the older generation which was powered by a 1.1 petrol engine.

As the tag line say “For The Smarter Race”, the company is getting it ready for the same.
