Mercedes-Benz to launch SLS Roadster, display A-Class concept at Auto Expo

Mercedes-Benz India is all set for the 11th Auto Expo, 2012 with its new design language, exciting products and world acclaimed future technologies. The company has confirmed the launch of the SLS AMG Roadster and display range of exotic cars.

The company will also showcase the world acclaimed design and technological marvel the A-Class concept & future technologies like the Fuel Cell technology.

The SLS roadster was recently in May 2011. The SLS AMG roadster is built on an aluminum spaceframe body and is powered by an AMG 6.3-liter V8 front-mid engine. The power output is 563 hp and a torque of 650 Nm.

The engine is mated to a 7 speed dual clutch transaxle transmission. The Roadster gets a compact fabric soft top. The compact fabric soft top of the SLS AMG Roadster opens and closes in just eleven seconds, and can be operated on the move at speeds up to 31 mph.

Some technological pointers the car is equipped with.

  • AMG DRIVE UNIT with three modes are available: “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport plus”.
  • AMG Performance Media
  • Large wheels – 265/35 ZR 19 (front) and 295/30 ZR 20 (rear).
  • Fully automatic, weight-optimized soft top
  • Key less go starting function

Mercedes-Benz will also showcase the 2012 A-Class concept at the Auto Expo. The new 2012 A-Class has several design cues from the F800 Style concept which debuted at the 2010 Geneva motor show.

The car will be powered by petrol and diesel engines with dual-clutch gearbox. The concept car will also feature Driver assistance technology, with a radar-based collision warning system linked to adaptive Brake Assist.
