Mercedes India hoping to sell 5,000 cars in 2010

Mercedes Benz India said the company is hopeful of crossing the 5,000-car sales mark in 2010. “We have already sold 4,221 cars till September and crossing the 5,000-mark this year is not impossible,” Mercedes India Director (sales) Debabhis Mitra said.

The company sold 3,200 cars in 2009, 400 less than it sold in 2008, he said. The demand for cars has seen a jump of around 80 per cent reflecting a buoyancy in the luxury-car market.

Mercedes expects the Luxury market to reach at 13,000 units.
