Mini Xylo to be launched during Diwali, testing continues

The Mini Xylo has been caught several times on the Indian roads. We have posted about the Xylo being tested in Northern Europe undergoing winter testing.

The mini Xylo will sport a three cylinder diesel unit which is a shortened version of the M-Hawk engine displacing 70 hp of power and 160Nm of torque. There is also talk of the 1.5 DCi engine which powers the Verito to make into the Mini Xylo as the NVH levels of the 3 cylinder M-Hawk engine is not satisfactory.

The SUV will be less than four metres of length which qualifies it for the 10% excise duty. The engineers have completely redesigned the rear with the spare wheel mounted on the rear door. The interiors will be see subtle changes.

The Mini Xylo will help Mahindra target a new set of customers which means additional sales. The tractor to motorcycle maker is finding it tough enough to meet the XUV500 demand which is also one reason why the company has postponed the launch of the Mini SUV.
