Mitsubishi’s five pointers for India

HM-Mitsubishi is all set to make a buzz in the Indian auto industry. Mitsubishi is planning a slew of launches in India.

Mitsubishi will first launch its flagship Sedan Lancer Evo with 300 bhp. The Lancer will imported directly from Japan as an CBU which will attrct 110% taxes and therefore wont come cheap but will a have a decent price tag of around 30- 40 lakhs.

Pajero have been in its 3rd Generation in the international market but we in India still get the Pajero SFX and as result the Mitsubishi engineers have a pulled a miracle up upgrading the engine to BSIV complaint. This is one of Mitsubishi’s best selling SUV and had to be withdrawn from cities as it did not meet emission norms.

Nest is the 7 seater Outlander. This could be Justas an option as it also offered in other international markets. The Mitsubishi Outlander however will not get an diesel heart.

The model which Mitsubishi is going to bank on most will be its new Pajero Sport. The Pajero Sport will directly compete with Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. All these vehicles are made in Thailand and also are bassed on similar pick-up platforms. What more interesting is the Pajero Sport wil get 2 engines 2.5-litre 136bhp diesel and a 3.2-litre 163bhp diesel engines. We can expect the 4×2 and 4×4 versions also.

Another model which will be is the new Mitsubishi Lancer with 1.8 litre petrol engine. This car could see Indian roads by 2011 and sure will be a seller,as it is the best looking in its segment.
