Renault Scala spied, launch in September

These are the first pics of the all new Renault Scala sedan. The car launch seems around the corner as the cars have minimal camouflage. The Reanult Scala is essentially the Nissan Sunny with the Renault badge and slight modifications.

The Scala does get a more subtle styling compared to the Sunny with scooped headlights, large hexagonal grille with crome strip and Renault badge. In terms of profile there is no much change but the gets different tailamps.

Interiors are exactly similar to the Sunny expect the Renault badge. Renault will use the same variant convention as used on the Pulse. The car will be powered by a 1498cc petrol engine producing Max Power 99 @ 6000rpm and Max Torque 134 @ 4000rpm. The main seller will be the diesel option which will produce 86@3750rpm power and 200@20000rpm of max torque. Fuel efficiency will be similar to the Sunny with 16.95kmpl on petrol engine and 21.64kmpl on the diesel.

The Scala will be priced slightly higher than the Sunny. With Renault going mere for badge engineering we feel this is not a very good strategy for the Indian market.

The biggest question remains will you like to pay extra for the Renault badge?
