Should Fiat launch the new Siena in India?

Fiat Siena is not an unknown brand in the Indian market. The Siena was quite a popular car in the Indian market and was available in both petrol and diesel engine options. However Fiat discontinued the car after its second innings in the Indian market when the company tied up Tata Motors.

The new Grand Fiat Siena available in the Brazilian market is recently launched in Chile and will also go on sale in Argentina from June.

The Siena has grown in size with 4.29 meters long and 2.51 meters wheelbase and now looks a lot more contemporary. The Siena is available with a 1.4 EVO 85/88 hp (gas / eta) and 1.6 16V E.torQ with 115/117 hp, respectively.

The Siena gets safety features like Dual airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, power steering, electric front windows and locks, steering wheel with height adjustment, fog lights, trip computer and opening the trunk through the control. Comfort features include Air conditioning, chrome wheels, alloy rim 16 and seat with height adjustment.

We feel Fiat should launch the new Siena if the company is serious as it will help offer a product in the entry sedan market which is now has many players like the Hyundai Accent, Maruti Dzire, Toyota Etios and Ford Fiesta Classic.

In India the Siena could be powered by the same 1.4 Fire engine and India’s diesel engine the 1.3 Multijet. Pricing could be around 5 lakhs for the base model going upto R. 7 lakhs for the top of the line fully loaded Siena.

What Fiat needs is a good product range backed by a excellent dealership network to garner a larger market share.
