Tata to launch Aria facelift in last quarter of 2013

2013 Tata Aria Facelift Front

Tata Motors showcased the refreshed Aria Cross over at the 83rd Geneva Motor show. The Aria facelift has received some minor changes on the outside & insides and also changes to the power train.

The Aria has not really able to fancy the people’s mind since its launch in 2010 mainly due to the high price tag. Also with new options like the XUV5OO, Renault Duster and few other options have completely made the Aria a low volume seller.

Tata Motors have tried various options to lure buyers. The company launched a 4×2 version and later also launched a low prices Pure LX variant. The company is offering discounts up to Rs. 2 lakhs which makes the Aria more value for money. All the strategies have failed and the sales are limited to few numbers.

Tata Motors will give a fresh new life to the Aria Crossover and will launch the facelifted variant before end of 2013. On the outside the Aria facelift will come with smoked bezel headlamps and the clear lens tail lamps, a wide chromed grille with horizontal slats, large 19” alloys and a rear spoiler. On the inside the crossover will offer beige interiors with Nappa leather upholstery, Piano Black finish on the air vents and door handle decorative elements. A Harman Kardon with 10 speaker and amplifier combination music system integrated with GPS-Navigation.

A major update comes to the engine which now comes with 156 PS of Power (up by 16Ps) and 400 Nm of Torque (up by 80 Nm). Besides a standard 6-speed and optional 6 Speed Gear with Automatic Transmission is also available.

The Aria does come with a long feature list and technologies compared to competition vehicles in the same segment. We hope Tata does not repeat the same blunder pricing the Aria above customer expectations.
