Volkswagen to launch Passat petrol in February

Volkswagen is gearing for the launch of the Passat with an 1.8 TSI petrol engine. The Passat was launched with a diesel engine with Bluemotion technology.

The previous gen Passat sold in India was also available in a petrol engine before it was discontinued to make way for the new Gen Passat. The same engine also does the duty on the Skoda Laura & Superb. The German car has also been testing the Jetta with a petrol engine for quite sometime in the India market.

 The petrol variant will priced by atleast a 1 lakh less than the diesel engine. A Manual 6-speed fully synchronized and Automatic 7-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing transmissions can be offered.

Expect the same trim lines with the list of features currently offered on the diesel variants.
