First only on Goa On Wheels. Yet again our correspondent from Bangalore, Chetan Kumar caught this test mule in Bangalore.
Chevrolet is just testing the Wuling Hong Guang and trying to get feedback. From the pics it looks more like a MUV and a Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo competitor. GM-Wuling plans to launch 6 new vehicles by 2012, 3 in the commercial vehicle segment.
SAIC-GM-Wuling introduced the new Wuling Hong Guang compact business vehicle today at Auto China 2010. The Hong Guang combines an elegant exterior with a truly compact design and a small engine.
The Hong Guang has a 2+2+3 seating layout and boasts spacious interiors.
So will Chevrolet launch this to replace the aging Tavera? Or Will it be launched to fight the growing MUV segment?

GM is also looking at that segment and they will be launching a vehicle to compete with the Eeco. But this would be a bigger one, more of a Xylo competitor.
as per the pictures and the article, this muv will be not, love at first sight but….. any ways if gm is seriously thinking about any such segment to launch in india and STAY in india I feel they have to comeup with a muv /mpv like eeco, tata venture . and also with a rate which should be 4.5 or 5 ON ROAD and that too by march 2011 if they are ready with the car and also with sub 4mts which could help them with their budget and tax advantage. if gm are serious about their plans then they should act fast.
the GM Wuling Hong Guang muv , if mahindra is going to rebadge sangyong suvs in INDIA, so as GM will bring the chinese warriors to the INDIAN TERRITORY, still a long way to go , as the MUV MARKET IS being loved by the INDIAN FAMILIES, SO GM IS GUNNING ON THIS MODEL! the muv market is in a rage to be grabbed by every manufacturers, lets see wat toyota avanza and the next gen innova and mahindra xylo has to say ?
