Audi to unveil Q2 concept at Paris Motor show, launch in 2015

Audi is going ballistic with the Q Range. The German luxury car maker is planning to launch a smaller Audi Q2 which will go under the Q3 SUV.

Audi will officially announce the Q2 at the Paris Motor Show alongside a concept model with hopes of launching the vehicle in 2015. The Q2 will compete with models such as the MINI Countryman, sporting raised seating, luxurious interior, and Audi’s typical selection of gasoline and diesel powerplants.

The Audi Q2 is that it will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s new MQB architecture, which currently can be seen on the recently launched A3 model and will also be used for the next-generation Q3 in 2017. The production model is scheduled to debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The Q2’s face will be closer in design to the A1 than the A3, while introducing advanced LED headlight technology. The Audi Q2 will be powered by a 1.4 litre direct-injection four-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel.

The Q2’s face will be closer in design to the A1 than the A3, while introducing advanced LED headlight technology never before seen in small cars. Off-road ability will be understandably limited, as the Q2 range will be predominantly front-wheel drive, although higher-powered versions will get quattro four-wheel drive.
