Fiat India is planning to go further with its expansion in more aggressive way. The company has plans of launching the Linea 1.6 Multijet and the sports edition of its popular model Punto by July end this year.
Fiat also plans to the Linea with an automatic gear box and could be launched by 2010 end. This decision is based entirely demand from customers. The Punto Sports will a power version of the existing Punto and wil be more expensive.
The Linea will come with a 1.6 litre engine and power output of around 120 PS. We could also expect a Automatic version of the Linea. The new Linea wil be a good competitor the Class leader Honda City.
Please let me know whether the introduction of Fiat Linea Multijet 1.6 is likely to happen this year or early next year as indications are to the contrary.With the power of 1.3, not commensurate w the overall weight of the car, many Liea aspirants either go in for another car or defer their decision to buy Linea .I am one among them. Fiat can not be apathetic to such market expectations if they are really serious to make Linea a worthwhile competitor with the rest in that segment.
