Ford India was just settled for its second plant in Sanand as the company plans to launch 8 models by 2015 in India. Ford is also planning a car under the Figo which will be priced under Rs. 3 lakhs. The entry level is one of the main segment and Ford too wants to have its foot print in the same.
The Sanand facility will roll out the first vehicle in 2014 and this new small car could be the first to be made here. Ford has already started work on its new small car code named B562 in Brazil. The car wil be built on all new platform and may be powered by a 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine and a smaller version of the 1.4-liter Duratorq diesel engine.
