India’s No.1 selling sedan, Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets a facelift

Maruti Suzuki India launched the facelift of India’s bestselling sedan Dzire.

The 2020 Dzire gets an updated front fascia with a new bumper and grille design, minor updates to the interiors and is now equipped with K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT BS6 petrol engine.

The sedan now comes with segment-first idle start-stop technology (ISS), upgraded premium exterior design, refreshed interiors and new features.

Power train

Under the hood, the Dzire is now equipped with K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT BS6 engine with first-in-segment idle start-stop function. Mechanical upgrades include higher compression ratio, cooled EGR system and piston cooling jet which offers improved engine efficiency and reduced friction leading to fuel efficiency of 23.26 Km/L in MT and 24.12 Km/L in AGS variants.

The engine also develops more power with an output of 66kW@6000rpm available in both Manual and Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) variants.

Exterior Design

The front facia gets a new bumper, grille design and precision cut alloy wheels.

Interior Design

On the inside, the 2020 Dzire comes with new wooden finish ornaments on the doors and instrument panels with a natural gloss finish, twin-pod meter cluster, and a new 10.67cm multi-information coloured TFT.

The 17.78cm Smartplay Studio touch infotainment system is updated and combines smartphone, vehicle and cloud-based services and allows a user to surf news feed, get the latest weather updates and use navigation with live traffic updates.

The AGS variants get electronic stability program and Hill-hold function, bigger sized brakes in the front as well as rear. Additionally, all variants are equipped with dual airbags, pre-tensioner force limiter seat belts, ISOFIX (child seat restraint system) and ABS with EBD.

2020 Dzire will be available in two new colours, Premium Silver and Phoenix Red.
