Maruti new Alto spied, to get CNG option

Maruti will launch the new Alto just before Diwali festive season.  Maruti’s new small wonder will replace the Maruti 800 and the current Alto. Some more details have also been revealed about this new car. India’s largest car maker will introduce the new Alto 800 with a company fitted CNG kit and driver air bag right from the LXi model. We sense, Maruti to launch a base LX variant which could be priced under 2 lakhs and will be the real customer puller .

Thanks to our friends at Team BHP which have clicked pics of the Cherry Red new Alto. The new Alto will be built on the existing Alto platform and will also get the same F8 engine. Maruti also offers the current Alto with a CNG option.

Another interesting feature is switch for power windows has moved from the door panels near the gear box. The looks are a mix of many cars, but the company has managed to give the car sporty looks. The tail lamps look Swift inspired. The car gets a hexagonal shaped air dam at the front and grille a chorme slit with a large Suzuki badge at the centre. The bonnet gets sweeping lines and bumper gets nicely designed fins which resemble front skirts. The rear draws some resemblance from the Alto sold in Japan.

On the interior end the car will get same seats as the current Alto with integrated headrests and grey coloured dashboard. The design has gone some transformation with new central air vents and central console.

The new Alto will be a crucial model for the company considering the rising competition. Last year Hyundai launched the Eon with many segment first features. Chevrolet also has also indicated its  interest in the 800cc segment and Tata Motors is working on a new 800cc petrol engine for the small wonder Nano.

The company is the leader in the small car segment and to continue its dominance, Maruti will certainly play the value for money and aggressive pricing card to attract customers.
