Maruti Swift DZire with compact boot caught testing

Maruti Suzuki India will launch the new Swift Dzire with a shorter boot then the current model. The car was caught testing in Gurgoan. The new Dzire will be less than 4 metres in length which helps the car to qualify for the lower excise duty and the price could be lowered by Rs. 30,000-40,000.

The car will come with the same engine options as the current Dzire and will be ready for production by November 2011 with launch expected at the 2012 Auto Expo.

Tata Motors was the first to introduce the Indigo with a short boot, a new concept which was not considered seriously until the car sales shot up. Mahindra is also readying the new Verito’s shorter variant and expected to go on sales by mid 2011.
