You hear it first on GoaOnWheels.com. BMW will launch the new 2013 X1 Sports Activity Vehicle in India on the 14th of February. BMW plans to share the Joy on Valentine’s Day.
BMW will start the year on a high note with launch of X1 which not helped the company become a volume player but also retain its number one position in the Indian luxury market in 2012.
The Sports Activity Vehicle as the company describes it will get revised front bumper, silver finish kidney grille, head lights with LED day time running lights as an optional package along with a razor eyebrow which highlights the new look.
The engine options will remain the same, but will be slightly re-tuned for better performance. The X1 be offered with ECO PRO mode and Auto Start Stop as standard. The Interiors are refreshed giving the X1 and more premium feel and is equipped with a new audio interface with Bluetooth hands-free functionality and USB.
The biggest challenge would be create more value than the Audi Q3 which has been great success for Audi India. The Q3 has long waiting period and the local assembly is expected to start in the first quarter of 2013.
Pricing will again be an important and BMW may price it higher than the outgoing model.
