Brazil to get refreshed Etios Series, India could follow

We just reported the feasible launch of the Etios Series in the Malaysian market under the Perodua brand. Toyota will soon launch the Etios in the Brazlian market. The launch is most likely to happen in September.

After riding the success in India and South Africa, Toyota is all set to enter the Brazilian market with Etios September. The Etios sedan and hatchback will be launched simultaneously.

The Etios will get refreshed tail lights and slightly updated headlights as compared to the Indian market. Apart from the lights other exterior features remain same. The changes are mainly on the Interior. The dashboard gets pleasant silver finish compared to the dark grey on the Indian Etios series. The Seats get separate headrests unlike India which are integrated. The Seats design is also different compared to India which is focused to offer more space.

Chrome embellishments on the exteriors give the car a slightly premium look. In terms of Safety the Etios will be offered with Dual Airbags and ABS with EBD.

The Etios hatch will be powered by a The hatch will be powered by a 1.3 litre petrol engine (India gets a 1.2 litre petrol engine) and the Etios sedan will be powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine, both mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Etios twins will compete against other humdrum commuters such as Volkswagen Gol & Voyage, Nissan March & Versa, Dacia Sandero & Logan and Fiat Palio & Siena.

Toyota also plans to launch the Etios in Indonesia and other South East Asian countries.
