Chevrolet Beat facelift spied

Chevrolet is going all guns blazing, Scrapping the old cars, launching new ones and updating its existing line up. Chevrolet has discontinued 3 cars and 3 new car launches are slated for this year. In addition it has already upgraded 3 cars so far and just when we had got our hands on spy pics of The Spark, there is another surprise in store. Our friends at Motor Vikatan have managed to get the pictures of the Beat Facelift.

Off course, the changes to the car are heavily camouflaged but what is quite evident is that the front and rear of the car will be altered to freshen up its looks. The car will get minor tweaks to the headlights and tail lights. The front grille will be altered and so will the bumpers. We expect the car to resemble closely to the model showcased at this year’s New York International Auto Show.

What will be interesting to see is whether Chevrolet tweaks the powertrains or no. The 1.2 petrol motor feels a bit under powered and increase in output from the motor will be welcome. The Beat was a slow seller until the launch of the Beat diesel after which the sales saw a surge and it now consistently sells more than 5 thousand units per month.

The diesel motor in most certainty will be left unaltered as it already boasts of a class leading fuel efficiency. We dont have much information on the interiors but we feel Chevrolet might decide to add more features to the car to make it more appealing. The interior too might get small tweaks and different fabrics.

The beat is presently available in petrol, diesel and LPG and has a total of 10 variants. The addition of the diesel motor has done wonders for the Chevrolet Beat and this facelift could make things even better for Chevrolet. The facelift can enable the Beat to inch closer in terms of sales to the Hyundai i10, it nearest competitors. We expect the launch to happen somewhere in October.
