Fiat India plans to phase out Palio which was once a hot seller in India but has seen sales dwindling in the country over the last few years.
Fiat which is now banking on newer cars such as Punto hatchback and Linea sedan to double its sales in the current fiscal to around 45,000 units. Fiat launched the Punto with a more powerful engine.
Fiat India may launch a replacement to the Palio, and is expected to launch by 2011-2012. We hope to see more models from the Fiat stable.
