The Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association of Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi-Goa will be organizing their annual techfest ‘Torque 2012’ on 15th and 16th of March,2012 at the GEC campus.In its 3rd avatar, the event has lots of exciting events lines up for all kinds of students.
For the Robotics fans- participants and audience alike- Torque has events such as the RoboWars, RoboRace and Line Follower. For those who just wish to know how it feels to be at the helm of a robot’s control, there is also Robo-Control. There is also a catapult building competition.
For the Technical minds, Torque has the Paper Presentation event. There is also a separate category for Green Technologies and ideas within this event. For those who wish to flex their brains, there is the Aptitude test.
For the aspiring Automobile designers and enthusiast, there is a Concept Car sketch event. For the Quizzing enthusisats, there is Auto Quiz. The first round of the Auto Quiz is online and can be answered at http://goaonwheels.com/auto-quiz/
To let the heat off these serious events, there are also some fun events lined up for everyone. Think you’re good at slow biking? What if we add a pillion rider? And If Holi wasn’t enough,there is Counter-Strike with water guns and ballons in the GEC Counter-Strike event. Or can try your aim at Angry Balls. Or Play some Bermuda Baseball. There are many such events lined up.
One of the attraction of this Torque is the Bike Expo. Being organized in association with GoaOnWheels.com, the expo will consist of Restored classics, Modified bikes and Sports Bikes and is a great opportunity to see the Mechanical masterpieces and meet their proud owners.
