Honda will start the New Year with launch of all new CR-V which is expected to hit the market in February. When inquired to a couple of sources from Honda, they too hinted the launch of the SUV in February.
Honda unveiled the production avatar of the all new CR-V at the 2011 LA Auto Show. The SUV now gets bigger, wider and boasts all new sleek and aerodynamic design on the outside and high quality plastics with a ergonomic design interiors. The fourth-generation CR-V is more advanced in every area, including design, packaging and technology.
Internationally the New CR-V is available in a 2.4 L four-wheel-drive model and new 2.0 L front-wheel drive model that offers a combination of higher fuel economy and powerful performance. India too will get the same options. The diesel variant will not make it soon as Honda will first launch the Amaze diesel in the Indian market followed by the Brio, Jazz and City.
Honda has been working hard on localizing products and we may expect the new CR-V in the semi or completely knocked down form to keep prices on the lower side.
The CR-V will have to battle with the like of the Renault Koleos, Mitsubishi Outlander, Chevrolet Captiva, BMW X1 and Audi Q3. The CR-V is sold globally in more than 160 countries throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Stay tuned as we dig more details about the specs and pricing.
