Mercedes Benz launches Diesel E-Class in India

Luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz India today introduced a diesel version of its E-Class sedan in the country, priced at Rs. 48.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Earlier, the German luxury car maker had said that it is likely to register lower sales this year compared to 2008. However, with the launch of the advanced version of its E-Class sedan, it hoped to register impressive growth from next year onwards.

The new E-Class Saloon comes with a powerful 3.0 litre V6 engine that combines smooth operation and eco-efficiency with the highest level of agility and handling dynamism, generating an impressive torque of 540 Nm at 1600 – 2400 rpm with an output of 170 kW (231 hp) more than enough power to put you in control on any road.

But the new E-Class is not just powerful. It’s actually a greener vehicle. The E350 CDI features, for the first time in India, BlueEFFICIENCY an integrated package of numerous advancements that optimize every aspect of automotive engineering to deliver greater fuel efficiency with a superior performance.
