Nissan launches Micra facelift, starts at Rs. 4.79 lakhs

Nissan announced the launch of the 2013 Micra, which sports bold, energetic exterior and premium interiors. The new Micra is basically a facelift of the fourth generation city car with major redesigned exteriors, refreshed interiors and exhaustive list of advanced features.

The Micra continues to be offered with the same engine option 1.2 petrol and 1.5 diesel. The petrol comes with a  Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox a first in its segment which offermore convenience and high fuel efficiency.

The Micra makes an aggressive statement with the redesigned front and rear. The overall length of the car has increased by 45mm to 3825mm. The car now gets a sculpted bonnet and front bumper with signature V-shaped chrome grille. Front fog lamps with a thick chrome finish add to the premium appeal. The rear too gets a redesigned bumper with a lip finisher and bright LED tail lamps as well as high mounted LED stop lamp, which is a segment first. New attractive diamond shape 8-spoke alloy wheels are standard on the top variant.

The upgrades continue to the interiors, which gets an all-new centre console with piano black finish and silver accents for a premium feel. The overall ambience is an ultraspacious cabin with excellent legroom and headroom to accommodate five adults comfortably. Adding to the comfort further, there is a six-way manually adjustable driver seat for stress free driving. The roomy interior space is further enhanced by silver finished door trims, redesigned seats with new premium upholstery, 2-din music system with USB and AUX capability, steering mounted controls, rear view camera and Bluetooth connectivity among others. These new features have been incorporated in the Micra based on the customer feedback, highlighting Nissan’s strong commitment towards customer satisfaction.

Under the hood, New Micra will come with two engine variants petrol and diesel, offering superior performance without compromise on fuel efficiency. The fuel efficiency of tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol engine, stands slightly improved to 18.44kmpl (ARAI certified) due to performance tuning. The fuel efficiency of 1.5 litre diesel variant is 23.08 kmpl (ARAI certified). Improved NVH levels have also resulted in quieter cabins.

The major highlight of New Micra is the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox and this is the first hatchback in India offering Xtronic CVT technology with Sports mode button. The key benefits CVT provides for customers is smooth acceleration and no shift shock unlike conventional automatic transmissions and tops it up with its best in class fuel efficiency. It is the only transmission in the segment that is affordable, with fuel efficiency of 19.34 kmpl as per ARAI rated higher than manual and conventional automatic gearbox equipped cars.

Micra Tag line

The car is loaded with safety features like Anti-lock Braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), all three combined. Added to this, there is Reverse Camera and Auto Anti-Dazzling Room Mirror. Also, it offers good all round visibility and commanding road view. Dual front airbags and side airbags which is the second car in this segment to offer this feature is available on the top diesel variant only.

New Micra will be available in four standard variants of XL, XL Option, XV and XV Premium (only in Diesel). The Micra Xtronic CVT will only be available in the XV variant.

New Nissan Micra will be introduced in a range of six colours: Olive Green (new), Turquoise Blue (new), Blade Silver, Storm White, Onyx Black and Brick Red.

New Micra is priced competitively in its segment providing a complete package of features, performance, drivability and comfort.
