VERDICT

The Scout costs around 80 thousand to 1 lakh costlier than the similar equipped (and already expensive) Fabia Elegance model. There are no significant changes apart from the exterior styling and it comes with the same features as the Fabia. Considering the price the Scout feels underequipped and the competitors offer more kit.

As far as powertrains are concerned the Scout disappoints because the car retains the 1.2 litre engines which are a weak link in the otherwise excellent Fabia.  The car is very much similar to the Fabia in most respects and one does get a feeling that the price difference between the Fabia and the Scout is not convincingly justified. Look beyond this and you will notice the Scout feels like a luxury car and retains all the good traits from the Fabia. The built quality is excellent and it feels solid like no other car in its class.

There is good amount of space, the seats are of high quality and the comfort levels are top notch. All the controls functions in a precise way and the overall interior quality is superb. The car is fun to drive, feels planted at any speed and has a very good ride quality.

What really set’s this car apart is its looks. It looks attractive and much better than the Fabia and has an ability to stand out in a crowd. So if you want something slightly different from the standard Fabia and don’t mind paying for the higher sticker price then this is the car for you.

PRO’S:

  • Attractive looks
  • Retains all the Fabia Strengths

CON’S:

  • Save for the looks, it is very similar to the Fabia
  • Weak Engines
  • High sticker Price
