Skoda India sales up 90%

Škoda India has registered 90% sales rise in April. The Czech Republic car maker sold 2,446 units in April against 1,285 units for April ’10.

The company sales were mainly dominated by the small car Fabia and other models like the Laura, Yeti and Superb.

Skoda is gearing to launch the new Rapid sedan which is based on the Vento and production is expected to commence soon.

Škoda Auto India, a fully owned subsidiary of Škoda Auto A.S., Czech Republic and one of the most promising automobile companies in India, today announced a stupendous sales growth of 90% for April ’11 over the same period last year. Škoda Auto India’s total sales for April’11 stood at 2446 units against 1285 units for April ’10.

Škoda is emerging as a strong global automobile player in India with sales of 2446 units, for the month of April, 2011. Škoda is working on their dealership network to strengthen their sales force across country. Skoda inaugurated its 3s facility dealership in Goa lately in the month of March and is planning to inaugurate one more 3s facility dealership in Meerut in May, 2011.

Škoda recently completed its 20 years of successful association with Volkswagen AG. The Czech auto major is aiming to double its sales globally by 2018 to at least 1.5 million units. Škoda is looking towards Indian market to contribute a considerable share percentage to their global sales figures.
