Volvo to launch V40 Cross Country, targets 35% growth in India

Swedish car maker Volvo is looking for a larger pie of the Indian luxury car market and has increased its sales target by 35%. Volvo Auto India is planning to sell 1100 cars in the Indian market. Volvo sold 821 units in 2012 & 320 units in 2011 currently sells four models: S60, S80 sedans and XC60 & XC90 SUVs.

Volvo will introduce its fifth model the V40 Cross Country in the third quarter on 2013. The concept dates back to 1997 when Volvo first introduced the V70 Cross Country. Unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show the Cross Country is based on the V40 hatch and comes in two fuel option petrol & diesel.

Volvo is also expanding its dealership & service network the company currently has 9 dealerships. Volvo will soon open new dealers in Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Gurgaon.
