Yamaha launches 50th anniversary & Fiery Red R15 editions

Japanese motorcycle maker Yamaha has launched the 50th Anniversary & Fiery Red R15 editions. The two bikes were showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo. The 50th Anniversary comes with White and Red racing color specially made for celebrating Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary of Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix. The company plans to sell a limited 4 thousand units of this model only.

The Fiery Red R15 gets flare-patterned graphics on the base red colour. There are no changes in terms of technology or Mechanicals and are pure cosmetic.

The 50th Anniversary seems to be the one which could see a more fans riding upon as compared to the Fiery Red R15 edition.

The R15 sports a 149.8cc, Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, Single cylinder engine. Compared to the older model the new R15 version 2.0 has undergone changes in the specs of the Engine Control unit (ECU), drivetrain unit, a long aluminium swing arm, wider front and rear tires (radial tire for the rear), split seat, LED taillights and new-design middle cowl & tail cowl to experience the leaner and meaner performance.

The bike produces maximum power of 17PS/ 8,500rpm and maximum torque of 15N.m / 7,500rpmm.

The R15 50th Anniversary Limited Edition model will be available at Rs. 1,11,000 /- and the Limited Edition Fiery Red model will be available at Rs. 1,10,000/- (Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
