BMW to recall 3,422 units in India, fix battery fault

BMW recalls its recall time again and this time it’s by the German carmaker BMW. Thisi sa global recall which also includes 3,422 units of its 5-series and 6-series models to fix a potential problem with a battery-cable cover sold between the year 2007 and 2010.

BMW India will start informing customers about the exercise and the part replacement should happen soon.

“It will be done free-of cost and should take about 30 minutes,” the BMW spokesperson said, adding that not all units sold in the Indian market are affected by the recall. “There has not been any accidents or injury to persons due to this fault,” the spokesperson added.

Recall is new concept in India and many think that the quality has been compromised. Toyota had been recalling a million cars across the globe. The Indian cars like Maruti and Tata have also recalled cars in the past.
