Tata Nano caught testing…?

BS motoring have spotted a Nano being tested on the Pune-Mumbai highway. According to them it could be the diesel Nano being tested for fuel efficiency.

Tata Motors had earlier announced that they being a diesel company would certainly launch the Nano with a diesel heart. Tata have collaborated with Bosch for a 2 cylinder common rail diesel engine.

However we suspect this as Tata would first need to complete the orders for its petrol cars and will mostly finish allotting the 1 lakh cars by December 2010 end. The deliveries will be speeded with the Sanand plant commencing from 1st May which also coincides with being Gujrat day. After the process of delivering is over may be Tata would possibly launch the diesel version of the cheapest car- Tata Nano.

Goa on wheels feels that this could probably be some kind of testing may be for BS4 version of the Tata Nano or may be due the recent fire incidents that occurred where in Tata’s may be possibly testing the engine or trying to figure what could have caused the fire to happen.
